Is Ovarian Rejuvenation Possible?
Monday, January 25, 2021
Ovarian Rejuvenation is possible, especially in the early stages. Some women lose their egg reserves quite early, in their 30's and early 40's. This is often referred to as primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) or premature ovarian failure. The reasons for this relatively early decline are many — family history, hormonal dysregulation, autoimmunity, toxins, stress. Most doctors will agree that the solutions are not simple.
Desirèe, 39, came to the Stemaid Institute after having lost her period in the fall of 2020. Her gynecologist ran a full blood panel, only to discover her blood work showing POI, her values at menopausal levels, her hormones completely depleted. Her ultrasound showed uterine atrophy. This all came as a shock to her, she is overall very healthy. It's her dream to be a mom, so this news hit her hard. Her functional medicine doctor told her that there is not much that can be done, the levels of FSH were just too high to turn this around. She was quickly losing hope. So she came to us.
At Stemaid, we designed a program for Desirèe, with weekly Plurisome™ IVs and local injections into the uterine and ovarian areas. After 4 weeks, we ran the blood work again — and her POI was gone! Her blood values returned back to healthy normal. A week later, she called us with great news, her period was back as well. What a relief for everyone!
Her functional medicine doctor was very surprised to see such fast results. Even with hormone therapy, such a turnaround would take many months, if at all possible. He called us personally to express his relief for her and to learn more about what we are doing. He will be personally visiting the Stemaid Institute soon, he says. We are thrilled for Desirèe and for many women ahead that can benefit from these results as well.
